Real American Mahjong.
Alone, or with your people.
A full 4-player table in your pocket. Play solo against smart AI opponents whenever you have a few minutes — or sit down with friends and family, in the same room or across the country. A real Charleston, the official NMJL card, no ads, nothing tracked.
Everything a real table has. None of the hassle.
Callie's Mahjong plays like the game you know from the club or the kitchen table — whether you have three friends free or none.
Full 4-Player Game
A complete table of American Mahjong, any time you want it. Play solo against three AI opponents, or fill the seats with real people.
Play With Friends & Family
Sit down together on the same Wi-Fi, or play from anywhere through Game Center. Any empty seats are filled by AI, so a game never waits on a fourth.
Smart AI Opponents
Every opponent thinks — and plays — differently, every game. Climb to Hard difficulty and take a seat against Callie herself.
A Real Charleston
Mutual courtesy passes, a vote to stop after the first round, and full visibility into what every opponent chooses — with real people too.
Learn to Play in Minutes
A guided "How to Play" walks you through an entire hand step by step — the Charleston, calling tiles, using jokers, declaring Mahjong. You win every time, so you learn by doing.
Official NMJL Cards
Play with the built-in NMJL 2024, 2025 and 2026 scoring cards, or scan your own physical card and keep it a tap away.
10 Tile Sets, 13 Themes
Original, Basic, Classic, Colorful, Race and Space, plus three sets drawn for us by independent Mahjong artists: Sweets and Cozy by Winds and Wall Collective, and Zen by Tales of Mahj. Each brings its own table and felt.
Built for Everyone
Full VoiceOver support with spoken play-by-play, an Accessibility Mode with tap-friendly alternatives to every drag, larger text, higher contrast, and Reduce Motion — all honored from your iOS settings.
No Ads, Nothing Tracked
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking libraries of any kind. Your stats and your scanned card stay on your device. Playing with other people uses Game Center, and nothing else.
Play with friends and family.
Two ways to get everyone around the same table — and a game that keeps going when life interrupts.
Local Wi-Fi
- Everyone on the same Wi-Fi network
- One person hosts, everyone else taps to join
- No accounts, no sign-in
- Perfect for a table that already meets
Online, through Game Center
- Invite the people you already play with
- Or look for other players who are online
- Works on Wi-Fi or cellular
- Empty seats are filled by AI, so two can play
Real life interrupts.
What if I lose signal?
It depends which way you are playing. In a same-room game over Wi-Fi your seat is held while you get back, and you carry on with the same tiles. Playing through Game Center, a computer player takes your seat quickly so the rest of the table is not stuck. Either way, everyone is told what happened rather than being left guessing.
What if I have to leave?
Tap to leave and a computer player takes your seat. The game carries on for everyone else rather than ending. You are never trapped in a game you need to get out of.
What if the person hosting leaves?
In a game with people you invited, another device quietly takes over running the table and play continues — nobody has to tap anything. In an open game with players you were matched with, the hand ends and the app tells everyone why, rather than pretending nothing happened.
What if only two of us are free?
Then two of you play and the computer takes the other seats. It plays properly, so a two-person game is still a real game.
Do we all need the same card?
Yes, and the app checks. Everyone at a table plays the same year's NMJL card. The app refuses a join rather than letting two people play by different rules without noticing.
Can other players see my hand?
Your hand is yours on screen — no other player is ever shown your concealed tiles. One device runs the game for the table, the way one person shuffles and deals in person, and that device holds the state of the whole table so it can keep the game honest and take over cleanly if someone drops. When you play with people you invited, that is your own group's device.
From your first hand to your hundredth.
Guided onboarding for new players, a realistic Charleston, and automatic scoring that does the math for you.

Playing on your own is a one-time purchase you keep forever. Playing with other people is a subscription, because it is the part that needs looking after.

Frequently asked
Do I need Wi-Fi or friends to play?
Not for single player. A full 4-player table against AI opponents works entirely offline, with no internet connection and no account. You only need a connection when you choose to play with other people.
Is there a subscription?
Only for playing with other people. The single player game is a one-time purchase of $12.99 that is yours permanently and restores free on every device signed into your Apple ID. Playing with friends and family is $2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, and it includes the complete single player game for as long as you subscribe.
What do I need to play with other people?
In the same room, everyone just needs to be on the same Wi-Fi network — no accounts at all. To play from anywhere you each need to be signed in to Game Center, which is built into every iPhone and iPad. Everyone at the table needs either a subscription or an active free trial.
What if I can't get four people?
Then you don't need four. Any seat nobody takes is played by the computer, so two of you can sit down and still have a full, proper game.
What scoring card does it use?
The official NMJL 2026 card is included, with the 2025 card available too. You can also scan or import your own physical card from Photos or Files. Everyone at a shared table plays the same year's card, and the app checks.
Is my data private?
Yes. Callie's Mahjong has no ad or analytics SDKs, no tracking, and no accounts of our own — we never see your games or your statistics. Anything you import, like a scanned card, stays on your device. Playing with other people goes through Apple's Game Center and directly between the devices at the table; it does not go to us. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Does it support VoiceOver?
Yes — every tile, button, and screen is labeled and announced, and you can play a full hand, Charleston included, without looking at the screen.
